How to appeal a rejected UK visa application

UK visa refused? Don’t give up hope!

In many cases you have the right to appeal when your UK visa has been refused.

This is a quick guide to the immigration appeal process for anyone who has had a UK visa rejected.

Reasons for visa refusals may include:

- Incorrectly filled forms

- Missing documents

- Failure to attend an interview

- Clerical error by UK immigration officials

In more serious cases a refusal may relate to a criminal record or accusations of false or forged documents being provided.

Many rejected UK visas are subject to an immigration appeal.

Your letter of rejection will state whether you have the right to an appeal, after which you have 28 days to lodge your appeal.

In order to lodge an immigration appeal, lawyers must have Level 3 registration with the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner, so be sure to ask your lawyer about his/her qualifications.
